THE MINI'S | GUEST BATH REMODEL

We have lived in our house now for a little over a year and are finally ready to dive into the bathroom re-models.  Our first one will be a smaller guest bath on the first floor.  I want to do a clean, elegant, but also colorful space.  In my opinion, wallpaper is a must in a small guest bath.  It is a space where you can have a little fun!  Which inspiration above is your favorite?

BEFORE & AFTER | CHELSEA PROJECT

We love updating our clients apartments and creating their vision.  A lot of time young professionals just don't have the time to make their apartments home.  Or they just don't know how to create the home that they see for themselves in their heads.  That is where we come in!  This couple wanted something fresh, cool and comfortable with pops of color.  They wanted it to be "preppy-chic", but modern given the loft vibe the layout created and the neighborhood in which they lived.  Above are some before and after photos.  We think we created what they were looking for :)

FRIDAY'S FAVORITES | INSPIRATION

This week was a long one.  My husband and I are awaiting the birth of our first little girl and my mom and I are swamped in client meetings.  I feel blessed that we are so busy right now and am beyond excited for our new projects ahead (although, I have to say I am more excited to meet my baby girl of course!!)  We need constant inspiration and browsing pinterest in bed while laying awake at night has become a favorite pastime.  This week there seemed to be a common thread- gracie or gracie-esq wallpaper.  It is beyond beautiful and just inherently classic.  I have been desperately wanting framed panels in our living room and am thinking about biting the bullet as a push present for myself... we shall see!  I hope you enjoy this weeks inspiration...

FALL RE-VAMP

We love a beautiful light colored, linen sofa.  We use them often because they are classic, clean and work well with our bold accent colors.  However, recently our clients have been asking for something more durable and comfortable.  Velvet seems to be the answer.  It creates a warm, inviting lounge area and is perfect for the cold weather ahead.  Above are some inspiration photo's of gorgeous living room's with the perfect velvet sofas.  We will share photo's of three separate installs where we used velvet in the next few weeks.  They are all completely different in feel, but have one thing in common- a totally comfortable place your you and your hubs to lounge or for your little kiddies to watch their cartoons all afternoon.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE GALA

We are so proud to participate in the amazing organization, The Ronald McDonald House on Long Island.  Last year we participated in an event where designers were chosen to created a fun vignette that was actioned off for the charity.  This year they chose another set of designers to design table scapes for the same purpose- each to be auctioned off to raise money for the terrific cause.   Above is our inspiration for our table.  We wanted it to be fresh and fun, with pretty pieces that people would want to purchase.  We love the combination of blue and green together it is classic and beautiful.  A big thank you to Cowtan & Tout for the beautiful napkins, Elite Tent & Party Rental for the lucite chairs & Scarsella Floral's for the gorgeous arrangements.

If you don't know about the Ronald McDonald House here is a little background.  The house provides  a "home away from home" for all family members of children that are sick and going through treatment.   They are able to stay at the house, free of charge, for as long as they need.  The rooms were all decorated by designers over the years to create a happy, stress free environment for these families who are going through so much.  Every year we are humbled by the people we meet at this organization who have dedicated their lives to making other peoples lives a little easier.

FRIDAY FAVORITES | A NEW CLIENT

We have an adorable, young new client in Manhattan who we are so excited to start working on.    They love our favorite palette of neutrals, navy's and whites and are going to pop it with a little green or pink as well.  Here is our starting off point.  Traditional, yet clean and modern perfect for a newly married couple trying to blend their styles.  We will post progress photo's in a few weeks.

NURSERY INSPIRATION

Above is all of my inspiration for our nursery.  It will be a mixture of french with a hint of modern (The Rinfret Group's typical aesthetic).  I also tried to incorporate color, but in a calming, serene way for our little girl.  I can't wait to show you all what I came up with.  Only 6 weekends left until she arrives!  We are so excited to meet her.

FRIDAY FAVORITES | SUMMER PREGGERS PICKS

I love being preggers.  I adore the cute belly and the sweet little movements of my baby girl... That being said, summer is HOT to have the extra weight.  So, I've had to adjust my wardrobe to basically strictly dresses, wraps and comfortable, stylish shoes.  People have been asking me what are my favorites and above are my must haves.  My #1 has to be the Mama Mio Tummy Butter.  Everyone has suggested the Palmer's and this is a little more pricey, but it has been my savior.   It smells delicious and isn't as thick as the other body butters.  Also, my MDS stripes dress (which was a gift from my bestie) when I first got pregnant has been my most stylish way to cover the bump.
Enjoy! Listed from top left...

GALLERY SPOTLIGHT | GREGG IRBY

We've been sourcing a lot of modern art for our younger, NYC clients as well as our more transitional clients on LI and in CT.  Although there are a slew of galleries in Manhattan, my eye keeps going back to the artists on Gregg Irby Gallery in Atlanta.  He features favorites like Michelle Aramas, but always keeps it new and fresh with up and comings.  I love the above for their whimsy and color.  The first reminds me of a cool, italian market.  The second of a rainy day in sag harbor and the third's color just spoke to me.  So fresh and happy!  Check out their website for amazing art work.

OUTDOOR SUMMER FUN

Dee & I recently collaborated with a super fun website called Chairish.  If you don't know the site you should definitely check it out.  They have great deals on furniture and accessories for every room and outdoor space you can imagine.  They recently came to us wanting some bar stool inspiration- you can see the rest of their bar stools here.   Being that my husband and I are trying to get our backyards ready for the beautiful summer ahead we immediately thought of an outdoor bar.  We love how the above came together with our favorite pink and blue color palette.  Who wouldn't want to hang here on a gorgeous spring day?

OUR EASTER TABLE

Alex & I are hosting our first holiday in our new home.  This may be a daunting task for most, but I am so lucky to have Amanda, my super talented, event company planning sister.  She and her husband Scott will make the day amazing and perfect.  My mom, Amanda & I have been back and forth over what our palette should be.  At first we were thinking blues and greens (naturally, because it is our favorite), but are now leaning towards a very spring vibe of pinks, whites and greens.  Above are our inspirations and the eventual, probable table we've decided on (for now).   However, we still have a week so everything could change by then.  Wish us luck!

THE MINI'S | DINING ROOM DECOR

Most of you know that Alex & I recently purchased our first home.  Being a designer, I have access to  all of the most amazing options as far as everything - furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, lighting, the list goes on.  It is so much fun to browse through all of these sources to see which will work in our space.  Although, sometimes it gets overwhelming because we are exposed to so much and each source has so many amazing products.  It's hard to choose!  We are almost finished with living room and are now moving on to the formal dining room.  A lot of couples our age are opting for a less formal, more open floor plan, but I absolutely love the idea of a gorgeous, wallpapered, fully decorated dining room.  I grew up with one (obviously)... with lots of dinner parties and holidays around the table and we plan on doing the same in our home.  Above are my inspiration photos so far and also my inspiration board.

LIQUID LACQUER

One of our favorite new clients is an adorable, fun couple in a pre-war apartment on the Upper East Side.  We love when clients aren't afraid of color and taking risks and this couple is super stylish and on board with anything.  One element that we are definitely incorporating in this project is lacquer.  On the walls, on the ceiling, the furniture, the accessories.  When mixed with traditional lines, we can't get enough.  It looks like smooth, colorful, ice- just so chic and cool.
Above is some inspiration...

A MODERN MIX

Happy New Year!

We are so excited to start work on a slew of projects in the new year, all of which are completely unique with each clients aesthetic being totally different.

The first project we are working on is a modern, loft style apartment in Gramercy Park for a young couple.  We love clean lines mixed with tradition for this apartment with a few pops of color and/or print.  Above is some of our inspiration so far.
